A dog's tale

This custom dog portrait was commissioned by my son's fiancée for her grandmother in Budapest. It was a fun project hearing stories about Hachiko and his adventures in faraway Hungary.

Pet portraits make unique and meaningful gifts. When her granny received the painting, she was thrilled to see that I had actually painted her dog's tail a little fluffier than in real life.

Good photography is needed to commission a painting, particularly if looking for a strong likeness with a subject. Sometimes it's best if you can provide a few different options to choose from, as there may be one that suits being painted better than others.
